But best news, I am done with my round of edits, now all I can do is sit back and wait. I am sending book 2 out to my beta readers, lets hope they like it.
Three days that is all I have left before I am back to work and the children are back to school. My third child's first day of high school and my youngest starts his new school. He will be there for two years before he joins the others at high school. Of course, by then my eldest two will be in college, or sixth form. That is truly a scary thought.

Good morning, so little time left. I am back to work soon, the kids back to school. I still need to get the school uniform and everything my four children need.
But today, it's bank holiday Monday, and what am I doing today, well I am going to edit another chapter of my second novel, and then complete a craft challenge or two, before doing anything else. What are you guys up to? I had planned as the title says a day of editing dream world, but it looks like my daughter may have taken my memory stick instead of mine.
So I could iron, clean or have a bath. Or instead edit one of my other novels. That would be just as good, really. I could craft, but I like to do that once the kids are home and tea is cooked. What are your plans today, leave a comment..would love to hear from you guys. I cannot believe that half term is over and I don't think I managed to get much done at all.
Of course unless you count the pile of ironing I did, the housework, taking care of the kids. And of course a few hours here and there making craft items. Nope not much done. I did manage three chapters edited though. I also sold a few books this week, how cool is that. One of the ladies messaged me to say she cannot wait for book 2, that is the best thing ever an author to hear. As many of you are now aware, my publisher is closing, but my plans to self publish remain. As soon as I know more on when she will take them down and return the rights to me, i will let you know.
Recently I read that many authors are either part of or have a street team. I don't know much about them, do I start one, do others start it, do I even need one? If I am self publishing, maybe I should. I would really love to hear your thoughts, or ideas about this, thank you in advance. Oh can I just say, I am not worried about losing my publisher, yes I am saddened by it, but really I need to think positively. If I can just reach one reader who enjoys my book, I will be happy, if I find two, three, or more, I will be thrilled. After all my goal is to be read. I could stand here and gabble on about all my book ideas that I have planned. And trust me if I start I may not be able to stop, seriously. All I ever wanted from writing is to find those readers who love my books that they have to share them, and maybe have a fanbase like so many other talented authors out there. Tracie Puckett has been one of my biggest inspiration to do it. I have seen her soar so high with her fantastic books, that I feel that now the time is right for me, this is the path I was meant to take. So from here on, I have my head held high and will keep you guys all updated, those that do stop by and read. I really right now need to hear from you, I am not begging, but leave a comment...it may just make my day.....(it really will....<3) I really wish I had more time to edit than I do. It seems Mondays just pass in a blur. I did manage three chapters in their first round of edits today, will go over them with Natural Reader and Pro-Writer, and move on to the next chapters afterwards.
It always seems to look like rain when I have to head to get the boys from school. Why is that. Oh and did I say my daughter turned 15. I bet I did...lol...And with my 37th birthday fast approaching, wow, time is flying past. I recall when I was her age, it may be why I love teen books so much. Right now, I am reading two books, one called Finding the Light, and the other Jet Lag diaries. One is out now as an ebook, the other is a ARC book, I think that's what one calls it. I may just soak in the tub tonight and read more of Finding the Light. I will be posting a review up as soon as I am done, on my review blog. But now the time has come, already for the school run, horay. Another Monday and I don't feel like I got much done at all. Yes, I washed and hung out four loads of washing, cleared up a bit, fed the chickens, updated my new page for featured authors, edited the rest of chapter two.
What else, oh yes, sorted some laundry into baskets for the kids to put away. Cooked the kids tea, washed up and even read a little. So did I do a lot today, reading that lot, I guess I did. Did I edit as much or write as much as I would like. No. I wish I had more time, oh and I made playdough for work tomorrow. YAY, yellow with almond flavouring. The kids and adults alike are going to love it. Right now the kids are quiet, and soon they will be going to bed, and I will be able to sit in peace and quiet, at least until their dad gets in.... Well what a week, my partner turned 40, my son is in the process of choosing his options for GCSE's next year, and I have work to do for my children at school. As well as trying to edit and make some kind of plan for my daughters 15th birthday next week. Wow 15, I cannot believe how time has flown. It does not seem possible, and feels like I only held in my arms as a tiny bundle of just under 6lb when she was born. Now she almost taller than me and growing up fast, and her brothers of course are catching her up.
On the up side, I have no gained any weight with eating cake and treats, this week, but then again I am not losing either. And had to miss my zumba class. I guess I need to try harder with my diet and not be on a seefood diet. Yes, I spelt that correctly, meaning and many of you may know this one, see food and eat it. I do have a balanced diet, but need to really kick it into gear. I will keep you guys updated on that. As for editing, well one of my lovely beta readers has the opening chapters and I am waiting to hear back from her. Fingers crossed Michelle likes it in present tense, biting my nails while I wait. Today I had plans to do more editing than I actually managed, but then again I did pop over to see a friend I had not seen in a long time. It was nice to sit and chat and check out her new pad.
I love her new place, its fantastic, in a quiet spot with loads of space, and well I had a lovely chat with her and a cup of coffee, or two. Once I found it. Missed my turning, or took the first one, but got there in the end. Once home, I let my three dogs out, and made myself lunch before sitting down at the computer and began to edit chapter 2. I am currently working my way through it for the fourth time. I have the computer read the chapter to me, and then I use a programme to help me edit, as best I can. I love using the reading programme as it make me listen to how it reads, and catches misspelled words. Like image and imagine. It really helps me, I think it may help others to, download the free version and try it out for yourself. Natural reader: http://www.naturalreaders.com/download.php With half-term over and already a week of back to school and work, is it really Monday already?
I have plans today to update my blogs, and my website, and today I will be adding a new author to my website. She will feature the whole week, and well she is a very talented writer, and she blows my mind, because she is only twelve years old. Pop over to my website and check her books out, yes books, she has two. Here is a link to check her out, and while you are there, why not check out the past authors too. http://sjhitchcock.weebly.com/jasmin-lily-duncan.html |
